The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, widely known as Speed Darlington, wanted over serious allegations including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
The declaration follows the singer’s failure to respond to multiple invitations for questioning by the agency. NAPTIP said it had summoned Speed Darlington after a controversial video he posted on Instagram went viral. In the video, he allegedly claimed to have had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl — an admission that triggered widespread public outrage and prompted an official probe.
According to the agency, Speed Darlington was initially invited to appear at NAPTIP’s headquarters in Abuja on May 30, 2025, after receiving the summons on May 28. However, the entertainer failed to honour the invitation, citing prior engagements, and instead proposed June 26 as a convenient date.
NAPTIP, however, dismissed the proposed date, stressing that the allegations were of urgent national concern. The agency gave the entertainer another opportunity to present himself on June 2, 2025. But again, he failed to show up.
In response to his continued absence, NAPTIP issued a public notice on Friday, officially declaring him wanted and appealing to members of the public for assistance.
“Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking,” the agency said in a statement.
“Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately. 07030000203 & 627. [email protected],” the statement concluded.
