PSG Beat Inter 5-0 to Win First Champions League Title

Paris Saint-Germain have finally won the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history after a stunning 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the final played at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday night.

The French club, managed by Luis Enrique, completely dominated the match from start to finish and gave the Italian side no chance throughout the 90 minutes.

Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring for PSG in the 17th minute after the ball bounced around the Inter box and he reacted quickly to put it into the net. PSG doubled their lead just 12 minutes later when 19-year-old Désiré Doué placed the ball calmly past Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer, making it 2-0 before halftime.

The second half continued in the same direction. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it 3-0 for PSG in the 60th minute after receiving a pass from Doué. He moved into the box and sent the ball into the far corner.

Doué scored his second goal in the 72nd minute with a brilliant solo effort that left the Inter defenders behind. Then in the 88th minute, substitute Senny Mayulu added the fifth goal after a simple tap-in following a well-constructed PSG attack.

After the final whistle, PSG fans at the stadium went into wild celebration. Some of them rushed onto the pitch, bringing down goalposts as the club’s long wait for European success finally ended.

This victory also completed a treble for PSG, who had earlier won the French league (Ligue 1) and the French Cup (Coupe de France) this season.

It is also the second time Luis Enrique has achieved a treble in his coaching career. The first came in 2015 when he led Barcelona to win the Spanish league, Copa del Rey, and Champions League. Now, ten years later, he has repeated the same feat with PSG.

Speaking after the match, Luis Enrique said, “This is a great moment for the club. The players worked hard and stayed focused all season. I’m proud of every single one of them.”

Désiré Doué, who was named Man of the Match, played a key role in the win with two goals and one assist. At just 19, his performance is already being compared to some of the best in Champions League final history.

For Inter Milan, it was a night to forget. The Italian side came into the final unbeaten, but were unable to cope with PSG’s speed and energy. Inter coach Simone Inzaghi admitted that PSG were the better side. “They played better and deserved the win,” he said during his post-match press conference.

With this result, PSG have joined the list of European champions, finally achieving the goal they’ve been chasing for over a decade.
