Six students of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, who were abducted on July 26, 2025, while travelling from Anambra State to Adamawa State, have been rescued by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.
The students were reportedly kidnapped late Saturday, July 26, along the dangerous route between Wukari in Taraba State and parts of Benue State.
Confirming their release, the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, SP Udeme Edet, issued a statement on Friday, August 1, in Makurdi.
According to Edet, the students were en route to resume at the Yola Campus of the Nigerian Law School when they were ambushed by the kidnappers near the Benue-Taraba boundary.
She said, “Please be informed that the police have successfully rescued six law students of the Yola campus, who were abducted on July 26, 2025, while traveling from Anambra State to Adamawa State, have been safely released and united with their families this morning, August 1, 2025.”
She added that the Police remained committed to protecting citizens and ensuring public safety,“Police authorities confirmed the rescue, assuring the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.”
