Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has placed the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Dr. George Oshiapi Egabor, on indefinite suspension. This decision follows a series of security breaches, including rampant kidnappings and killings in Agenebode, located in Etsako East Local Government Area.
The suspension was announced in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, on April 21, 2025. According to the release, the secretary to the monarch, Chief Peter Omiogbemhi, has been arrested in connection with a recent incident that resulted in the death of a palace chief, the late John Ikhamate.
