Darey Art Alade and Wife Escape Car Fire on Third Mainland Bridge

Date:

Popular Nigerian musician Darey Art Alade and his wife, Deola, escaped a frightening ordeal when their car caught fire on Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge on Friday around 4 p.m. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blaze.

Sharing the experience on Instagram the following day, Deola wrote, “Yesterday, around 4pm, our car caught fire on the 3rd Mainland Bridge and burnt to the ground.” She described it as “a shocking and painful experience,” but expressed relief that “the driver made it out safely. No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters.”

The couple posted videos showing the car engulfed in flames and efforts by bystanders to stop the fire before firefighters arrived to put it out.

In her post, Deola stressed the value of life over possessions, saying, “Moments like this remind us how quickly things can change and how unimportant material things become in the face of life itself.”

She explained why they chose to share their story: “We’re not sharing this for sympathy but to remind someone that things can be replaced. Lives cannot. We’re choosing to remain thankful to God for protection, for perspective, and for the quiet strength to keep going.”

Deola offered encouragement to anyone dealing with sudden loss, writing, “If you’re navigating a sudden loss of any kind, we hope this reminds you: we can rebuild. We can begin again and find the strength to keep going. One breath, one prayer, one step at a time. We give thanks in all things. Thank you JESUS”

The couple also thanked everyone who stopped to help during the incident. Their post has drawn support from fans and celebrities who have sent prayers and well wishes.
